Dr. Timothy W. Kozelsky
Tim Kozelsky, DDS, always knew he wanted a career in medicine and care for people. He grew up in a family of craftsmen and saw the beautiful result and reward that came from visualizing a solution to a problem and crafting it with your own hands. In his practice, Dr. Kozelsky draws on this influence to provide a depth of care that exceeds what general dentistry often does. His commitment to honesty, integrity, and patient education underpins everything he does.
To understand why Dr. Tim does what he does today, we need to understand how Dr. Tim got here:
In 1992, Drs. Tim and Cherie got married. Together, they graduated from UTSA in 1991 with degrees in biology. After college, Dr. Tim worked as a research assistant at the UT Health Science Center in the Department of Medicine Oncology and carried out experiments for Doug Yee, MD. He continued to work for years, while the couple welcomed their first child and Dr. Cherie worked her way through dental school.
After Dr. Cherie began her career as a practicing dentist, it was Dr. Tim’s turn. While Dr. Cherie was managing a dental practice in the Houston area, Dr. Tim attended dental school, and they welcomed their second child. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas.
In 2002, the couple saw their dream come to life, and they opened Leon Springs Family Dental, a small practice built on a “big hope.” Together, they grew the practice, and their family, into what it is today.
Dr. Tim remains committed to his education by staying up to date with the latest advances in dentistry to better serve his patients. He regularly attends study clubs and continuing education courses in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry. He has been an active member of San Antonio’s ERDE, Excellence in Restorative Dental Education, chapter of Seattle Study Club for the past 20 years and has actively engaged in continuing education from Frank Spear and the SPEAR center for continuing dental education in Scottsdale, AZ for over a decade, pursuing courses in cosmetic and restorative implant dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, San Antonio District Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club – Excellence in Restorative Dentistry.
At Leon Springs Family Dental, Dr. Tim understands that advanced, complex dental care relies on positive, safe relationships that are rooted in trust. He works tirelessly to ensure that each patient feels heard, cared for, and valued. Taking his responsibility to his patients and honoring their trust and vulnerability, he treats each of his patients with the respect and honesty they deserve. He centers longevity and the real, lived experience of each individual in every treatment plan.
Patient education is an integral part of his practice philosophy, knowing that an educated patient is a confident one. Dr. Tim is honored to be able to serve his patients’ needs, whether they are looking for routine wellness or complex restorations. With the team at Leon Springs Family Dental, he has a full-service dental practice that operates on two foundational principles: simplicity and integrity. Here, each patient is met with real conversations, treatment plans without inflated procedures, and a focus on long-term health and lasting results.
When he isn’t in the office, Dr. Tim enjoys watching sports, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
